Our Aim
The aim of Approach Tennis is to inject excitement and enthusiasm about Tennis into the Hutt Valley region.
This will be achieved by 2 focus areas.
Fun - for those players who just want to be able to play at a social level for the enjoyment of the game, private and group lessons will be provided for the primary purpose of just staying fit, and having fun.
Talent Identification - Approach Tennis wants to set the pathway of progression for your budding Rafael or Serena. By working in conjunction with Hutt Valley Tennis Academy (HVTA) and head coach Marc Paulik, Approach Tennis will identify and coach junior players to a high skill level so that they might apply to be part of HVT Academy’s elite squad, competing in junior tournaments, and looking to achieve higher representative honours.

Approach Tennis Ltd is owned and operated by Terry Nicol with occasional assistance from son, and Junior Coach Liam Nicol
The company was set up in July 2018 and primarily based at Pinehaven Tennis Club in Upper Hutt.
After many years of working in the IT industry I made a change in direction, and am now fulfilling my passion of being a Tennis Coach.
With many years of part time coaching, and the last year of full time coaching, hundreds of hours under the belt, and the undertaking of the ITF Level 1 Junior Development course, Approach Tennis has been established.
